A new official tool for comparing bank fees in Georgia

July 16, 2026 · 1 min read

NBG’s July comparison platform gives freelancers a practical starting point for checking banking costs and exchange rates.

News date: 16 July 2026. Published and checked: 10 October 2026.

The National Bank of Georgia launched a platform for comparing payment-service tariffs and deposit rates on 16 July 2026. It brings together bank offers and cost calculators for individuals and legal entities. NBG launch announcement.

For a freelancer, this is a useful opportunity to review recurring banking costs alongside the monthly income routine.

Compare the account you actually use

The official comparison page lets you filter services, compare fees and check commercial-bank exchange rates. Use your own pattern of payments:

  • Which currencies do your clients pay in?
  • How often do you transfer or convert money?
  • Which account package and service channel do you use?
  • Are the displayed conditions available for your individual-entrepreneur account?

Save the relevant quote and ask the bank to confirm the terms before switching or making a transaction. NBG says the displayed information comes from banks and can change. A comparison result is a starting point, not a promised tariff for your account.

Keep the bookkeeping question separate

Choosing where to convert money and recording a payment for tax purposes are different tasks. Keep the original amount, currency, receipt date and fee evidence. Ask your accountant which rate and recognition date apply to the transaction; a cheaper bank offer does not determine its tax treatment.

Taxocat does not open bank accounts or arrange transfers. This tool is a practical addition to your monthly records checklist.
